Emily Friedman, LCSW

After graduating from New York University with a Master’s degree in social work in 2005, I started my career by providing therapy to clients with various mental health issues at an outpatient family clinic. In this setting, I applied evidence-based treatment for trauma, anxiety, depression and self-harming behaviors while creating a safe environment for recovery and healing.

I then spent a decade working at a nonprofit that provides therapy to individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma.

In my private practice, in addition to working with those who have experienced trauma, I work with mothers in their prenatal and postpartum journey. Part of my practice is devoted to seeing children, adolescents and adults with various mental health issues.

In my personal life, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. In order to keep my mind and body healthy, I read, practice yoga and exercise.

I look forward to working with you .
