Therapy With Children

Working with children begins by creating a safe space where they can feel free to express themselves. I focus first on building trust before prompting them to express and verbalize their thoughts and feelings. Children express themselves best through play, and I help facilitate this expression with toys, art supplies, and therapeutic games.

Through play, children learn how to regulate their emotions and how to manage their frustrations, leading to positive shifts in behavior. Adopting coping skills in an age-appropriate way is woven into our sessions together.

I emphasize collaboration and open communication with parents. I learn about the struggles as well as each child’s strengths from the perspective of parents. In our work together, we identify strategies that parents can use to best help their children.
